Registrations are now open for the second part of the 13th Asia-Pacific RCE Regional Meeting, to be held online on 5 October, 2021 under the theme 'SDGs and ESD for 2030 Framework: Local actions during COVID-19 Pandemic'.
In response to the COVID-19 crisis, and inspired by the Asia-Pacific RCE Coordinating Committee, RCE Srinagar in cooperation with RCE Greater Western Sydney organised a coordinated webinar series titled 'ESD Action in COVID-19 Era: Experiences of RCEs of Asia Pacific Region'.
Steering Committee members from six RCEs (from the UK and Ireland) came together on 30 June, 2020 to consider the role of RCEs within and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus of this online forum was to provide solidarity and support, to share challenges and opportunities associated with the pandemic and to further consider the collaborations across UKI RCEs to be prioritised in the coming year in light of emerging or emergent opportunities and challenges. Dr. Philip Vaughter from UNU-IAS gave the keynote speech, and the event was chaired by Charlotte Holland, RCE Dublin.
RCE Greater Western Sydney (GWS) and RCE Srinagar with support from UNU-IAS recently held a series of webinars on the topic of 'ESD Action in COVID-19 Era: Experiences of RCEs of the Asia-Pacific Region' on 14 May, 9 June, and 11 June, 2020.
The Formal Education Committee of RCE Tongyeong visited RCE Penang as part of its 'Teacher Cooperation Training' programme mid last month, from 15-19 January, 2020.
The year 2019 is a milestone both for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development / Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The 9th African RCE Meeting was held in Luyengo, Eswatini from 5th-7th August, 2019 under the theme, 'Accelerating Progress towards the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals in Africa'. Hosted by RCE Eswatini, with the support of the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS), 92 participants from 16 RCEs across 10 countries in the region attended this year’s meeting.
The 12th Asia-Pacific RCE Regional Meeting was held in Hangzhou, China from 4th to 6th June, 2019, and included a Symposium on ‘Enabling a Low-Carbon Society through Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)’ on 5th June, followed by thematic workshops and a field trip on 6th June. It was held in conjunction with side events and SDGs shows on 4th and 5th June, 2019.
