RCE Otago Officially Launched at Workshop Event

RCE Otago, "Whaiao – Education for Sustainability Otago" was officially launched at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin, New Zealand, on 15 October, 2020. The launch was part of a day-long workshop that involved a broad range of partners joined by a common goal – to identify and address sustainability issues in the region.

RCE Chandigarh: UNDP’s SDG Action Award 2020 for Environment Sustainability

RCE Chandigarh’s lead agency Punjab State Council for Science & Technology has been honoured with a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Action Award 2020 for ‘Environment Sustainability’ from UNDP and the Government of Punjab, India for promoting Cleaner Technologies to enhance Climate Resilience Capacity in the Punjab state, India.  

The RCE has carried out pioneering work in demonstrating economically viable technological interventions to address two main grand challenges of the state:

European RCEs Share Local Collaborative Approaches to Climate Action

The Europe Regional Meeting 2020 was held online from 24-25 November, 2020, hosted by RCE East Midlands under the theme 'Climate Emergency: Joined-up Action'. 

The event provided a platform for RCEs and other participants to share experiences of local collaborative approaches to sustainability across the European region to address the climate emergency and looked at the contributions that RCEs can make in enabling action through learning.

Online Workshop: Bridging to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Action Learning

Join ESD Expert-Net for a virtual workshop on Change Projects for a more sustainable world.  The workshop will include accessible, copyright free resource materials and innovations in strengthening Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

Through a year-long mentoring for ESD-Leadership programme, young sustainability professionals have been engaging with the SDGs in Mexico, India, South Africa and Germany. In this online workshop, five South African mentees will share their action learning and how it links to the SDGs.

National Seminar on Food Security and Ecosystem Management in COVID-19

RCE Greater Dhaka and its host IUBAT Institute of SDG Studies (IISS) are organising a seminar on Food Security and Ecosystem Management, covering the SDGs 2, 13, 14, and 15 on Thursday, 19 November, 2020. Interested RCE Partner colleagues are invited to participate in the seminar. The seminar will be held virtually from 18:30-21:30 (Bangladesh Time).

Webinar to Mark 'International Mountain Day' (IMD) 2020

Co-hosted by RCE Kuching and RCE Srinagar, supported by RCE East Kalimantan, RCE East Java (candidate) and RCE Kyrgyzstan, a webinar to mark ‘International Mountain Day’ 2020 will be held on 11 December, 2020. Besides creating awareness on mountains, the webinar will strengthen the capacity of the RCE community on ‘Disaster Risk Reduction and Crisis Management’.

RCE Kano Digital Youth Forum for Sustainability and Youth Leadership Conference: Recordings and Presentation Slides Now Available

Organised by RCE Kano, the Sustainability and Youth Leadership Conference was held from 1-2 November, 2020 with more than 170 registrants for the two-day event.

The second Digital Youth Forum focused on leadership, and was designed to complement the first Conference held in October 2020, empowering youth to take leadership roles in promoting and driving the SDGs.
