The "Symposium on Sustainable Development Research in Australia and New Zealand" will be held in Melbourne, Australia on 1st-2nd August 2016. The event, hosted by RMIT University, is co-organised by the Inter-University Sustainable Development Research Programme (IUSDRP), run by Manchester Metropolitan University and Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, and involves a number of institutions of higher education active in this field, from across the region.

First Capacity Building Forum of IPBES - “Opportunities for aligned investments in ecological knowledge for sustainable development"

The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), established in 2012, is an independent intergovernmental body open to all member countries of the United Nations. The members are committed to building IPBES as the leading intergovernmental body for assessing the state of the planet's biodiversity, its ecosystems and the essential services they provide to society.

RCE Iskandar with the support of IGES (Institute of Global Environmental Strategies), Japan, successfully organized the International Conference of Low Carbon Asia (ICLCA) hosted by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and held in conjunction with the 4th Annual Meeting of LoCARNet (Low Carbon Asia Research Network) in Johor Bahru, 11-12 October 2015.
