Launching today is a new publication from the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS), featuring innovative education projects on the topic of sustainable consumption and production (SCP), developed by Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs).

Side Event at 2023 ECOSOC Youth Forum Highlights Importance of Multistakeholder Partnerships for Youth-Led Initiatives

On 26 April, 2023, UNU-IAS organised an online side event at the 2023 ECOSOC Youth Forum, showcasing the commitment of youth leaders to environmental sustainability. The event, titled ‘From Ideas to Action: RCE Youth Projects on Multistakeholder Partnerships’, aimed to promote a deeper understanding of initiatives developed by Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs).

RCE Dobong-gu Holds 'Orientation of Project Neuru Season 3’

On 21 April 2023, RCE Dobong-gu held an orientation on Zoom for the '2023 Global ESD Youth Project Neuru Season 3' to promote ecological literacy and glocal leadership among domestic and international youth. Over 100 students, teachers, and guardians from various RCE cities participated in the orientation to celebrate the start of Project Neuru Season 3.

RCE Hangzhou Holds '2023 Sino-Foreign Scientific Dialogue'

RCE Hangzhou jointly hosted the '2023 Sino-Foreign Scientific Dialogue' on 13 March 2023 in Linping, Hangzhou. Held under the theme 'Achieving the zero-carbon era through technology', it not only served as a discussion forum, but also as the kick-off ceremony for the second University-Level Zero Carbon and Cyclic Economy Technology Innovation Competition.

Japan RCE Youth Meeting Synthesizes Action Point for 2023

On 22 February, 2023, 17 young people from six Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs) in Japan came together at the Global Citizens Exchange Center in Aichi for the 2023 Japan RCE Youth Meeting. The event was preceded by three online sessions where the young participants got to engage with each other and share their individual initiatives.

First National Meeting of RCEs in Republic of Korea Fosters Collaboration on Education for Sustainable Development

On 15–16 March 2023, the First Korean National RCE Meeting was held at Sejahtera Forest in the Republic of Korea, hosted by RCE Tongyeong. The meeting brought together around 30 members from five of the seven Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs) located in the Republic of Korea.
