On 22 May, 2018, RCE Srinagar, with support from the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and Give2Asia, organised celebrations for the International Day for Biological Diversity (IBD) in the districts of four states in India: Baramulla (Jammu & Kashmir); Uttarkashi (Uttarakhand); Bahraich (Uttar Pradesh); and Kokrajhar (Assam).

RCE Jammu, RCE Srinagar, and the Department of Economics, University of Jammu recently organised a one-week training workshop on ‘Writing Research Proposals, Papers and Grant Applications for Social Science Faculty and Researchers’ from 27^th April to 1^st May, 2018. Nineteen young researchers attended this workshop.

Throughout April 2018, CEE Himalaya and RCE Srinagar, with financial support from the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and Give2Asia, organised four teacher training workshops (TTW) on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) preparedness for the teachers of the Jarwal Block, situated in the Bahraich district in Uttar Pradesh.

RCE Srinagar celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) on 8^th March, 2018 across two separate events.

The first youth-led Asia-Pacific SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Challenge, supported by the RCE network, commenced in February with 30 youth-led projects submitted across 12 RCEs, as well as three ESD-related projects from UNESCO.

During the challenge, youth across the globe will focus on SDG 13: Climate Action and SDG 14: Life Below Water to mobilise on-ground activities in their local region.

RCE Jammu, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools Coordination Committee (JKPSCC), organised the 2^nd Annual State Level Conference on 21 January, 2018 in Jammu, India, focusing on the theme, the “Role of Private Schools in Education for Sustainable Development”.

RCE Srinagar’s Dr. Apurva, recipient of the Sejahtera Fellowship 2017, recently completed the Sejahtera Fellowship programme during the period 13 October 2017 – 10 January 2018 in Tongyeong city, Republic of Korea.

Led by the Asia-Pacific Regional Youth Leaders, the first Asia-Pacific SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Challenge will be held in February 2018, focusing on SDG 13: Climate Action and SDG 14: Life Below Water. All Asia-Pacific Youth Focal Points are encouraged to participate, and in turn to lead the mobilisation of on-the-ground activities in their local region.
