On January 11, 2024, Learning for Sustainability Scotland (LfSS), organised an evening reception to commemorate a decade since its inception. The reception took place at the illustrious Playfair Library, University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, marking ten years of dedicated efforts in the realm of sustainability education. The event welcomed 80 esteemed guests from various educational backgrounds across Scotland. The Center's Director, Peter Higgins, Director and Professor of Outdoor, Environmental, and Sustainability Education at the University of Edinburgh, along with Prof Sir Peter Mathieson, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh, greeted the attendees.

During the reception, Ms Jenny Gilruth, Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP), the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, delivered a keynote address, praising and acknowledging the significant contributions of Learning for Sustainability Scotland. The organization's cross-sectoral approach was commended for its role in advancing the skills, knowledge, and values crucial for building a more sustainable and equitable world. The concept of 'Learning for Sustainability,' recognized in Scotland, has now ascended to greater prominence within the landscape of Scottish education.

Noteworthy contributions were also made by Mr Bernard Combes, Programme Specialist for ESD for 2030 at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO); Dr Jonghwi Park, Academic Programme Officer at the United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies and Head of the Global RCE Service Centre; Dr Rehema White, Chair of Learning for Sustainability Scotland and faculty at the School of Geography and Sustainable Development, University of St Andrews. Additionally, young voices from Boroughmuir High School, City of Edinburgh, added their perspectives through insightful speeches during the reception.
