The Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities (SGSAH) EARTH Scholarships is a programme run by SGSAH with funding from the British Council, to enable international research collaborations between PhD and Early Career Researchers and Scottish HEIs and Scotland-based academic mentors, and external organisations. This exciting opportunity supports women’s economic empowerment in the APEC region and human capital development in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)-related fields in developing economies.

The IPBES Fellowship Programme provides an opportunity for outstanding early-career individuals from all backgrounds and disciplines working on biodiversity and ecosystem services to fully participate in IPBES assessments. Fellows gain first-hand experience in participating in major multidisciplinary scientific assessments while working with, and being mentored by, leading experts.
IPBES is currently seeking fellows to participate in two assessments to be launched in 2018:
- The methodological assessment regarding the diverse conceptualisation of multiple values of nature and its benefits
- The thematic assessment of the sustainable use of wild species
Selected fellows will take part as authors in the chapter of the assessment they are selected for. They will attend author meetings and receive training to gain an in-depth understanding of the IPBES assessment processes, and will be paired up with a mentor for the assessment period.

Applications are currently open for RE-volv's Solar Ambassador Program, a unique fellowship opportunity for college students to develop key project management, outreach and communications skills while tangibly taking action on climate change through solar energy. During the fellowship, over one academic year, undergraduate students are given the opportunity to spearhead a solar energy project for a local non-profit in their community. Student teams will receive in-depth training in solar energy policy, financing, crowdfunding and community engagement while working in their community to deploy a solar energy project for a local non-profit. The Government of Malta is offering three Scholarships in Climate Action for students wishing to engage in postgraduate studies at the University of Malta commencing in the academic year 2018/2019.
Scholarships are for the Master of Science by Research on crucial climate related issues such as water management, renewable energy, marine conservation management and climate action governance.
Research proposals will be considered in the following areas:
- Mitigation of climate change and low carbon transportation
- Adaptation to climate change to enhance resilience for the conservation of living marine resources
- Climate change governance in the context of small island states and territories

Abe Fellowship Program competition.
The Social Science Research Council (SSRC) and the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership (CGP) announce the annual Abe FellowshipProgram competition. This competition is open to citizens of the US and Japan as well as to nationals of other countries who can demonstrate strong affiliations with research communities in Japan or the US. Deadline for applications is 1 September, 2016.

CADFP is currently accepting Project Requests until July 5, 2016. A Project can be conducted in the African host country for between 14 and 90 days, with one visit by an African-born scholar who lives in the United States or Canada and works in an accredited college or university in either of those two countries.
