Description of RCE and Geographic Region:

RCE Chubu focuses its activities within a region which is called the 'Ise-Mikawa Watershed Area', a region covered by rivers which flow into Ise-Mikawa Bay. This area roughly corresponds to the three prefectures of Aichi, Gifu, and Mie.

Goals and Objectives:

Our activities aim to clarify the natural, economic, and social problems which hinder sustainable development, and to develop a network for developing individuals who will be able to resolve such problems. In more concrete terms, our activities consist of the following:

  1. Education and mutual learning at all levels - formal, informal, and non-formal
  2. Educating individuals who have a holistic and critical point of view, can conceive the relation between humans and nature, and can plant the seeds of ESD into local communities
  3. Research and development of methods to measure the level of achievement of ESD and SDGs in the region
