Socioeconomic and environmental characteristics of the area : 
Participation in the program comes from the entire 'Sekolah Berasrama Penuh' schools, maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) and daily secondary schools around Penang and Kedah. The organizers also invite international participants from 5 countries such as Thailand, India, the Philippines, Kyrgystan and Turkmenistan. In 2017 and beyond, organizers extend invitations to 12 more countries such as Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Korea, Indonesia, Ukraine, Nigeria, Bosnia, China, Tajikistan, Mexico and Turkey.

Rationale: 
A platform to share research findings and development of science and engineering students. This program has produced many talented students in the world and world-class science and engineering research projects.
Objectives: 
-Sharpening students' talents in research and development, innovation and engineering.
-Develop students' scientific potential and skills in recent research.
-Improve social and communication skills among students.
-Develop the ability and creation of the students in science and engineering to the platform higher.
-Encourage teachers to produce students who can produce innovations through this competition and popular aspects of sustainability.
-Stimulate and develop innovation and devise the club's activities as well as the environmental club at the SM Sains Sultan Mohamad Jiwa and networking cooperation among the members of the Regional Sejahtera ESD Network (RSEN)

Results: 
The program has been progressing smoothly and achieving the objectives. Participants are responsible for forming a healthy culture as a challenge to the challenges faced by the students in their respective schools. The MIYIO program has also helped the students in their academic, disciplined, personality and able to enhance the skills of students in bilingual communication. This is in line with SBP's recommendation to produce a distinguished student who needs a strong cooperation from administrators, teachers and parents and those involved directly or indirectly in the success of the program. Hopefully the implementation of this MIYIO will strengthen the relationship between students and teachers and to build a culture of loving affection and to cultivate positive attitudes towards the students and to produce a credible leader.

Organized by the Division of Residential School Management / Cluster, Ministry of Education, in collaboration with Sekolah Menengah Sains Sultan Mohamad Jiwa. And co-organized with the Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCE ESD) Penang, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) and Teachers-Parents Association of Sekolah Menengah Sains Sultan Mohamad Jiwa
