5. Project description
Provide a short description of the project including strategies, regional challenges, aims and specific project activities.: 

The Mpophomeni Enviro Champs are a group of 20 previously unemployed people who are the eyes and ears of the Environment. They report on any illegal dumping and littering as well as reporting on spilling manholes and any fresh water leaks.. They do door to door environmental education in the community and also fix fresh water leaks in people’s homes. They are funded by the district municipality. The aim is to uplift the physical environment in the area and prevent pollution of Midmar dam the main water reservoir in our province. On Going
Description: 
The project will be ongoing into the future as there will always be environmental problems to report on. We will continue with this project as long as we receive funding from the District Municipality. This is a job creation project too and we believe that the job creation section and the education section have created a strong and knowledgeable group of people to carry this work forward.
