To develop a sustainable campus through activities in formal and informal education.

Sustainable Campus –thus enabling the university function as a sustainable community, embodying responsible resource consumption and waste management.

Sustainability Research – Integrating the available expertise in various disciplines to comprehend and provide solutions in matters related to sustainability issues locally, nationally and internationally.

Description: 
Utilizing the campus as a living lab, UTM Campus Sustainability (UTMCS) and Office of Asset and Development (PHB) conducting annual survey to measure the level of conduciveness in campus sustainability which covers the facilities, infrastructure and physical environment in support teaching, learning and living environment. The result as reporting to UTM annual management group. The campus environment in a higher learning institution must be conducive to support the synergistic effect of the three basic functions of campus namely: learning, social interactions and living. In the context of campus sustainability, all the facilities and infrastructures provided need to fulfill the three basic pillar sustainability; environment, social and economic. There are seven (7) main factors identified to measure the conduciveness level of the campus environment which name it as;
Indoor Environment,
Natural/Outdoor Environment,
Food and Beverage Outlets,
Inter-Building Connectivity,
Laboratory, Library and Examination Hall,
Sport Facility
Campus Transportation.
