The Young Citizens' Initiative for Climate Change Project is an ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) initiative fully funded by the German Embassy in Beijing, and implemented by the Shangri-la Institute for Sustainable Communities (SISC).

The project focuses on strengthening climate change education in schools across China and on encouraging mitigation and adaptation to climate change through teacher training, student activities and curriculum development.

Description: 
In 2016, Young Citizen’s Climate Initiative continued its second phrase and was implemented in 13 pilot schools from Beijing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Hubei and Tibet. Over 36 climate change activities were held, engaging over 3,000 students and teachers.
