Using forestry learning as a general theme and a starting point, this project includes knowledge on local biodiversity, watersheds and soil erosion, and on climate change and carbon cycle issues. The materials and training developed are adapted locally, linking up with existing Chinese curriculum and providing teachers with practical examples for interactive learning, community engagement and re-connecting with nature. The project is currently in its second phase and is being implemented in four areas of China: Beijing, Sichuan, Yunnan and Tibet. In 2014 the theme of the project is being expanded to include knowledge on local biodiversity, watersheds, soil erosion, climate change and carbon cycle issues.
