5. Project description
Provide a short description of the project including strategies, regional challenges, aims and specific project activities.: 

Through use of technology secondary school students on three continents engaged in a perr-based, active-learning activity that put them together in virtual space and allowed interaction.

Description: 
 In its thrid year, the Youth Virtual Conference focused on energy issues.  Students from North and South America and Africa presented research on the subject to their peers in a video-conferencing format that brought these students together in real time. The exchange was rich and the students learned from one another. 

Minna, Nigeria was one of the participating RCEs. Following the conference Minna organized a similar Youth Virtual Conference for peer organizations on the African continent. Grand Valley State University provided the technology platform an pre-conference training for participants.

The Grand Rapids RCE has now offered to make the technology and training available to other RCE regions who would identify a lead RCE to be schooled in the technology and methodology.
