1. Project title: 
Green Buildings of West Michigan
2. Project Description: 
Green Buildings of West Michigan was a collaborative effort started by the West Michigan U.S. Green Building Council Chapter. The council partnered with Grand Valley State University, Aquinas College, and Kendall College of Art and Design to create a book highlighting 40 of the 130 LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified buildings in West Michigan. The project has raised awareness of the works going on in this region and reminds the world that West Michigan Is a pioneer in sustainable practices, including green buildings.

6. Expected outcomes:: 
The U.S. Green Building Council, West Michigan Chapter, collaborated with local resources to create a book that would highlight green buildings in the region. The book was completed in 2010.

The West Michigan Chapter of the USGBC expects to raise awareness; locally, nationally, and globally, of the green buildings and sustainable practices happening in the region.

This project consisted of various project volunteers from professional businesses and organization and used the talents of local students from Aquinas College, Grand Valley State University, and Kendall College of Art and Design to assemble case studies.

What are the current results of the project in terms of Outcomes:
The outcome of this collaboration was to create a publication. Green Buildings of West Michigan was published in 2010.

The 40 businesses and organizations highlighted in the publication were a tremendous help to the many volunteers who collected data. The steering committee also played a huge role in the project.

Green Buildings of West Michigan had many businessmen and women in the community volunteer to collect data and compile information to make this project possible. They also partnered with local college students.
