Samara region is located in the middle reaches of the Volga River. The population is 3.183 million. The share of urban population is 80, 24%. Largest cities: Samara (1.16 million people) and Tolyatti (0.71 million people). Priority industrial sectors: mechanical engineering and metalworking. Samara region considered the "space capital" of Russia. On the Volga River Zhigulevsky hydraulic dam was built and upstream is the largest reservoir in Eurasia. The Samara region is located in two natural and geographical zones - forest-steppe and steppe. There specially protected natural areas are registered (a biosphere reserve, as a part of a worldwide network, a state nature reserves, two national parks, more than 200 specially protected objects of regional significance and a botanical garden).
Description of sustainable development challenge(s) in the area the project addresses:
Introduction into the educational process of common approaches to the design of the environment in the context of sustainable development at the faculty of architecture of SamSTU. Within the framework of course and diploma design in bachelor's and master's programs it is a study of approaches, development of tasks and architectural models of infrastructure objects for specially protected natural areas. The work related to the study by students of methods of resource-saving design of objects of scientific, cognitive and service purposes.

Rationale:
Introduction of the program into the educational process corresponds to the strategy of implementation of measures to improve the quality of life of people, which are carry out in Russia and the Samara region.
Objectives:
The aim of the project is to form students' noospheric worldview and professional competences corresponding to the tasks of sustainable development.
Activities and/or practices employed:
Lectures, practical classes with students. Implementation of research and development of experimental project proposals for the development of infrastructure of educational and ecological tourism in the Samara region.

More than 500 students
Results:
Illustrated lectures prepared for bachelors. Several final qualifying works performed, including 2 master's theses (2016, 2018). Several course projects on the topic "Facility of infrastructure for specially protected natural area" developed. Scientific articles about the need for application of sustainable approaches for infrastructure development in National parks and Botanical gardens have been publish, including in Scopus peer-reviewed editions.
Lessons learned:
The work allowed to recognized new directions of dissemination of knowledge about sustainable development. In particular, there is a need to prepare a training course on sustainable development to improve the skills of related disciplines teachers, representatives of management and business.
