The Waterschool China program is a component of the International Water School Program initiated in Austria by Swarovski. The project has been implemented by SISC and other Greater Shangri-la Members in China since 2008, and seeks to educate school students and engage communities throughout China’s river basins in ways that enable them to become active participants in sustainable water resource management.

Description:

At present, Waterschool China is implementing its phase III work and 101 primary & secondary schools from 12 provinces have been established as Water Schools in four key river basins across China: the Yangtze River, the Pearl River, the Yarlung Tsampo River and the Hai River. Over 150,000 students, teachers and community members have so far participated in the project.
