Our Food
2. Project Description: 
Our Food is a new initiative that aims to give people more say in the future of food and farming by becoming involved in collaborative research. We are looking for people in the North East of England who might be interested in getting involved as community-based researchers during 2012.

Building on successful projects in India, Africa and South America by pioneers such as those at the International Institute for Environment and Development, Our Food aims to create spaces for free expression on issues relating to agricultural and food research.

The initiative arose from the belief that a fair and sustainable food system requires a much wider range of people being informed and involved in making decisions about the future of food and farming. Central to these decisions is the control of the direction of research.
