“GenE”
2. Project Description: 
“GenE” stands for structural competencies for sustainable development (in German: Gestaltungskompetenzen für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung).
GenE offers seminars, workshops and trainings providing tools and methods to enable a sustainable design for the future. "GenE" turns concepts of sustainable development and systems thinking into key qualifications and structural competencies for their use in educational institutions, organisations, municipality, civil society as well as businesses.

10. Project results : 
Until now, GenE has organized and implemented several workshops, trainings and events for different stakeholder groups falling back on already trained multipliers.
11. Contribution to reforms and innovations: 
Next year we will establish first vocational trainings for executive / managers in the department of organisational and planning sector of the City of Munich and in a district youth association.
12. Unexpected / unplanned results: 
We not just train multipliers, we also train teachers who multiply their knowlege to their pupils. Next year it is the first time that also pupils multiply their knowledge to younger school children.

In the above mentioned core group all relevant decisions are taken. In order to anchorage our vocational training in relevant educationsl instituts in Munich, we work closely together with represenatives of these organisations; adapt vocational training to their needs.

GenE IS a educational project (see detailed description above and attached)
18. Learning activities: 
"GenE" teaches a new approach of problem solving, by viewing "problems" as parts of an overall system, rather than reacting to specific part, outcomes or events and potentially contributing to further development of unintended consequences.
That's how people in Munich learn to cope with complexity / intricacy and frustration in order to change their mind sets from linear to cross-linked thinking. Participants will be able to face global challenges, take responsible decisions and shape the future.

20. Research & Development (R&D): 
We work together with SYSDENE, a research group at PH Zurich. They support teachers who participated in our workshops in order to turn systems thinking approaches into their classroom. SYSDENE also evaluates their experiences with existing learning units / material.
