11. Contribution to reforms and innovations:
The inention is to encorage the strategic vision and plan of the many existing groups surrounding the Olympic Park to contribute to the long term commitment to sustainability within this new housing area, notably ensuring the safeguarding of the amenity control of land. A seminar was held in summer 2011 with local environmental groups who were looking to form new networks for research and bidding for future funds.
12. Unexpected / unplanned results:
The LRCE was the first organisation to bring these groups together despite the fact that many were aware of the othr's existitance bit had not the vehicle to link. The LRCE was able to provide that linkage and it is hoped to develop this work into the future. A paper on some aspects of this initiative has been produced by one of the Partners (UEL).

The LRCE is a catyalst in bringing together existing groups of people already involved in the social, historical, ecological and economic aspects of areas surrounding the Olympic Park. The two university partners will ensure that existing programmes ( noteably those in UEL) will be aware of the project and will be asked to contribute evaluation by students wotking with the groups involved.
18. Learning activities:
Originally the LRCE envisaged producing a video and straegic plan from the meeting with local activist environmental organisations - to influence the Olympic legacy organisation. In the event it was more realistic to encourage the local work that was already being done and act as a regional umbrella to any activities that are required by those most active on the ground.
