The Global RCE Service Centre is delighted to announce the 13th Asia-Pacific RCE Regional Meeting will be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, from 10-13 September, 2020 and hosted by RCE Kyrgyzstan under the theme 'Building Capacity for Sustainab

Held on 22 February, 2020, RCE Chubu organised an ‘SDGs Forum 2020’ in Nagoya, Japan, an annual event to share the outcomes and updates from their associated stakeholders. The event was co-organised by the Chubu University International ESD/SDGs Centre, and supported by UNU-IAS.

The 2019 Asia-Pacific SDG Challenge 'Youth for the Goals' aimed to inspire and mobilise on-the-ground projects led by youth, centred around social sustainability (SDGs 1, 6 and 10).

Collectively it achieved an engagement of nearly 8,000 youth participants across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

The year 2019 is a milestone both for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development / Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The 10th World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC) was held 3-7 November, 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand, under the theme 'Local Knowledge, Communication and Global Connectivity', and was jointly hosted by the Faculty of Environment, Kasetsart University, the Thailand Global Warming Academy under the patronage of the Nabhamitra Foundation, and the World Environmental Education Congress Network.

Representatives from RCE Belarus recently participated in the online game 'Sustainable Development Goals: Think and Act', held in Belarus оn 25 September, 2019 on the UN's Global Day of Action (#Act4SDGs).

Over the Summer, in coordination with local environmental NGO Green Zhejiang, RCE Hangzhou organised 21 Earth Successor study tours with a central theme of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Over 1,000 primary and secondary school students participated, travelling to destinations including the United States, the Bahamas, South Korea, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and various provinces within China.

The 9th African RCE Meeting was held in Luyengo, Eswatini from 5th-7th August, 2019 under the theme, 'Accelerating Progress towards the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals in Africa'. Hosted by RCE Eswatini, with the support of the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS), 92 participants from 16 RCEs across 10 countries in the region attended this year’s meeting.

On 30 July, 2019, the UNU-IAS ESD Project presented a session, 'Next Step of ESD for Achieving the SDGs', in cooperation with the Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center (OECC), at the 11^th International Forum for Sustainable Asia and the Pacific (ISAP2019), held in Yokohama, Japan.

The 12^th Asia-Pacific RCE Regional Meeting was held in Hangzhou, China from 4^th to 6^th June, 2019, and included a Symposium on ‘Enabling a Low-Carbon Society through Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)’ on 5^th June, followed by thematic workshops and a field trip on 6^th June. It was held in conjunction with side events and SDGs shows on 4^th and 5^th June, 2019.
