Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI) Special Event: Where Next? Redesigning Further Education For The Future

UNU-IAS will co-organise one of six Special Events at HLPF 2020, as part of the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI). In collaboration with the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and other HESI members, the event will provide insights on how COVID-19 will affect the education sector and what new ideas are being considered that can enable higher education to support radical change and regeneration.

RCE Srinagar Partakes in Several Webinars on COVID-19 Pandemic

Dr. Abdhesh Kumar Gangwar, Coordinator and Focal Point, RCE Srinagar was a guest speaker during two webinars organised by the Centre for Environment Education Nepal, the first one on 19 May, 2020 on the subject 'Dealing with COVID-19: Becoming Sustainable, Climate Smart and Disaster Resilient' and the second on 5 June, 2020 on the occasion of World Environment Day 2020.

COVID-19 Effects on Biodiversity: Science Education Reimagined

This webinar will share existing initiatives and efforts at the national and regional level for promoting biodiversity and ecosystems. Speakers will also explore educational solutions for promoting biodiversity in the new normal and discuss recommendations on post-COVID-19 rehabilitation initiatives. Jointly organised by SEAMEO, UNESCO, UN Environment Programme (UNEP), and SEAMEO Regional Centers, the webinar aims to promote environmental awareness and education for sustainable development on the occasion of World Environment Day on 5 June 2020.
