RCE Youth Webinar: Igniting Changes for a Sustainable World

Organised by the RCE Regional Youth Coordinators (RYCs) and co-hosted by the Global RCE Service Centre at UNU-IAS, the RCE Youth Webinar 'Igniting Changes for a Sustainable World: Embracing Intersectionality in Sustainability and Local Community Actions' will be held virtually (online) on 10 August, 2023 to celebrate International Youth Day 2023.

The webinar will put a spotlight on the importance of youth participation in sustainable development at local, national, and global levels. It will highlight the pivotal role of youth, explore the concept of intersectionality, and emphasise the significance of local community actions in achieving a sustainable future.

The event serves to inspire and encourage young people to take charge of their future and actively contribute to building a sustainable world. Both youth and those interested in empowering and engaging with youth are encouraged to attend.

Speakers' Bios

Ms Mana Saza
Ms Mana Saza worked as one of the Japanese youth representatives to COP26 and supported Mock COP26 efforts to implement climate education in over 20 countries. She started her own organisation in Japan to work on sustainable education to close the climate gap across generations, and is currently working to mobilise 1 million sustainable ambassadors by the 2025 Osaka EXPO.

Ms Angel Marie Ysik 
Ms Angel Marie Ysik is a development professional, educator, and peacebuilder with 10 years of experience in gender mainstreaming, program management, advocacy and research in Asia. She has worked with governments, NGOs, and CSOs to promote gender responsive planning and women’s rights in rural and conflict-affected areas. Angel is the Regional Program Coordinator of ESD Global Inc. for the implementation of Empowerment through Self Defense and a Campaigner at the Environment Justice Foundation investigating Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing and human rights violations of Filipino crews in distant water fishing.
