a) Criteria/ indicators used to assess aspects of RCE work/ project: Character count 300 words:
The evaluation design for RCE Goa factored in its nascent stage, and was built upon generating appreciative data on partner activities and practices, their outcomes and the emerging impact amongst those intended to benefit from the RCE’s work. Consequently, the evaluation strategy employed for RCE Goa revolved around:
• generating contextual data for RCE Goa,
• conducting an appreciative enquiry into RCE Goa activities/initiatives, and
• using the insights of the analysis to strengthen RCE Goa.
b) Successes of the RCE and lessons learned: Character count 300 words:
The evaluation process of RCE Goa strategized to facilitate internal reflections and bring together key stakeholders so as to take stock of RCE Goa’s activities, its challenges and constraints, and what can be done to overcome them. This exercise is of critical importance so as to help RCE Goa set up monitoring and evaluative assessments of its future activities and how it can be strengthened.
c) Challenges experiences: Character count 300 words:
The discussions at the workshop helped in learning, understanding and updating the work profiles of the RCE partners. This helped in collectively exploring and establishing ways to improve collaborative work, and in the process raise the quality of RCE Goa’s work in the near future. Before the workshop, a questionnaire was circulated to partners to solicit feedback so as to determine the success of the RCE in its own language, highlight important activities, projects and programmes, and, to establish areas where RCE work could bring impact and perspective directions of work. Responses gathered were then synthesized, presented and refined at the workshop with partner inputs. The consequent synthesis is presented in the subsequent sections. The workshop helped in chalking out a doable activity plan for RCE Goa (as a networked community) so as to promote diverse learning and change. The plan that has been developed is two-pronged with two main strands focused on (a) conducting/showcasing activities, and (b) developing an information hub. This will help in improving the quality of RCE Goa’s contribution to transformative learning and sustainability change in its region.
