Status of Environment & Related Issues
2. Project Description: 
To collect, collate disseminate information on state environmental issues through ICT ( bi-lingual website) and publications. To Identify and highlight the State Environmental issues. Creation of database covering all aspects of Environmental issues of Punjab State. Preparation of “State of Environment Reports (SoER).” Monthly compilation of Environment related News items and Events. Identification of information/data gaps in the field of Environmental Management. Establishing linkages with information users and providers from among Govt., academia, general public, NGOs etc. To respond to queries from Govt. and general public related to specified subject area.

10. Project results : 
It has provided authentic information to communities, reserachers, teachers and students. This is evident from frequent return visitors on website and querries related to subject areas.
11. Contribution to reforms and innovations: 
Data being used by researchers and by general public to analyze the state environmental issues. The data is also used by policy planners at state & national government level. The website information has been used by the legislature and courts also in identifying and responding to environmental & sustainable dvelopment issues in public interest.
12. Unexpected / unplanned results: 
i) Invitation from FAO-& UNAPCAEM in Rountable Meeting on Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization.

ii) Several PILs( Public Interest Litigations) have been filed by the public to raise specific issues and seek government interventions for environment improvement.

iii) The data has been used by courts to address public issues.
