Status:
Ongoing
Period:
April, 2011
Rationale:
The Trang Province Religious Volunteer Club has devoted 13 years to cultivating the volunteer spirit in Thai youth, recognizing the need for greater awareness and understanding of helping others. The founders emphasized that although today’s children are intelligent, they often lack the knowledge of the importance of community service. Inculcating public awareness from a young age is important, as it enhances children’s humanity and potential. The teachings of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the importance of doing good without regard to recognition reinforce the need to instill ethics and volunteerism in youth. By participating in volunteer activities, children develop a deeper understanding of their own environment and the value of helping others, which ultimately leads to a more compassionate society.
