Socioeconomic and environmental characteristics of the area : 
Southeast Vietnam is the most highly urbanized and economically developed region in the country. It consists of Ho Chi Minh City and five provinces Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh. While Ho Chi Minh city serves as a key center for finance, logistics, tourism, healthcare, and education, its adjacent provinces focus on high-tech industries and agriculture. However, due to booming development, the region is dealing with many emerging social and environmental issues.
Description of sustainable development challenge(s) in the area the project addresses: 
In 2021, the covid-19 pandemic has affected all activities on a global scale, and Vietnam is not excluded, in which, Ho Chi Minh City is the place that is hardest hit. It is urgent to maintain development activities for the young generation, especially during the period of social distancing.

Rationale: 
In 2021, the covid-19 pandemic has affected all activities on a global scale, and Vietnam is not excluded, in which, Ho Chi Minh City is the place that is hardest hit. It is urgent to maintain development activities for the young generation, especially during the period of social distancing. "IU Innovation Camp" which is the first Virtual Camping for Student in Vietnam was born as an innovative solution to solve the above problem, while focusing on SDG 4, SDG 9 and SDG 11.
Objectives: 
- Creating an intellectual and creative playground to promote teamwork and improve the ability to apply learning knowledge into practice; creating a learning movement and a spirit of extensive research among students; promoting and incubating the entrepreneurial aspirations of young people in the era of industrial revolution 4.0.
- Helping students have a clearer and more in-depth view of common and urgent issues of society, especially of Ho Chi Minh City, demonstrating the spirit and responsibility of an active citizen. future owner of the country.
- Creating opportunities to exchange and learn between students of schools in Ho Chi Minh city during the time of social distancing due to the covid-19 pandemic.
Activities and/or practices employed: 
Activities included:
- sharing CEO's perspectives on innovative thinking and practical experiences and experiences on their entrepreneurial path to motivate students through seminar "Entrepreneur journey";
- The "Enter Camp" activity took place in a lively and creative online form on the Gather.town platform;
- Training creative and innovative skills for students;
- Evaluating what students learned via the contest theme "Fix it for me" which focused on the authenticity of the story behind each idea, creativity, teamwork and learning-based problem solving, research and passion of students. The teams competed against time for 6 hours to discuss and come up with ideas to solve their own and the community's problems based on human needs groups according to Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

Results: 
After 7 days of very effective and creative activities, the camp has left impressive numbers: 51 teams participated with 227 students from 15 universities and colleges in the city, 13 activities took place throughout, 57 innovative products, more than 40 ideas participated in the explosion contest, lively connections through online platforms.

IU Innovation Camp 2021 took place successfully . This is the first camp to be applied entirely online with a lot of useful activities, bringing excitement, contributing to promoting creativity in students. Besides, the camp is also a place for students to exchange, learn, and rub shoulders through activities and competitions that took place at the camp. It is hoped that the Camp will be a memorable one in the student life and during this very special time due to the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on all the campers who participated.
Lessons learned: 
All of students succeed when they bravely took the first steps on the journey of self-discovery innovation, requiring creativity, perseverance, pursuing perfection ideas to the end.
Key messages: 
This is an opportunity for students to unleash their creativity and come up with ideas to solve their own problems during a long period of online learning and especially in the new normal after the covid-19 pandemic
Relationship to other RCE activities: 
RCE Southern Vietnam will make this program as a flagship program among inter-RCE
