"Degreeplus" and “Gloucestershire Employability Award” are two UoG institutional initiatives which seek to support the long term employability of graduates by providing short, focused internships and volunteering opportunities in leading organisations in the region. The RCE plays a critical link in brokering partnerships in the area of sustainability between students, staff and placements. The RCE coordinator works closely with all those involved in these internships/ placements to develop job specifications, provide mentoring for students and to act as a key liaison between students, staff and external organisations.

Looking forward, to maximise the opportunities for sustainability education through placement based learning the RCE Coordinator aims to work closely with DegreePlus to identify skills requirements linked with sustainability in all placements advertised to students by DegreePlus. This will raise students’ and employers’ awareness to the demand for sustainability education for employability in all fields.
