5. Project description
Provide a short description of the project including strategies, regional challenges, aims and specific project activities.:

As analyzed before in par. E1, the Russian region of the Volga Basin desires to have and is strongly motivated to develop a course or an educational program that:

 Fosters and promote economic activity on grass-roots level

 Combines expertise in different sectors of expertise in order to gain synergy and promote innovative approaches

 Focuses strongly on all aspects of Sustainable Development

 Is eligible for bachelor-alumni from different fields of study

To achieve these ambitions a consortium has been formed, built up by four Western European universities of Applied Sciences and three universities in the Volga basin. Consortium-partners have concluded that it would be preferable to give these ambitions shape in the form of a professional Masters program.

We shall call this program: “ Entrepreneurs for tomorrow”.

We see this professional Master as an executive master, which means that it:

 Will be eligible for a multitude of different bachelor-alumni (economics, engineering, social, arts, etc)

 Can be followed in diverse educational forms, like weekend-program or evening classes (to allow for enrollment for people with an active job) enhancing virtual learning and sustainability of the program

 Can also be followed by candidates without a Bachelor-diploma, but with sufficient and relevant practical experience. In that case a university-certificate will take the place of a Masters-degree.

The objectives of the Master “ Entrepreneurs for Tomorrow are:

• To provide a Master at a professional and international higher education level;

• To provide a Master in which action learning and direct application of the gained theory is relevant to foster the student’s professionalization;

• To provide a Master in which Entrepreneurship is determined by:

o Innovation and Management

o Skills and attitude.

o Sustainable Development

o Action Learning

• To provide a Master embedded in sustainable business goals by which the following issues are essential:

o 3 p’s (people, planet, profit) – CSR

o Continuity of business;

Description:
It is the consortium’s vision that a professional Master needs to have a length of 4 semesters and will be highly practice oriented. In this view the master on Sustainable Entrepreneurship will be structured around a realistic case-position: the preparation of a real-life newly established company. Students will in groups of two or three persons work together in identifying a promising product-market-combination (PMC). These PMCs will be leading during the program. Already from the introductory period in the first semester, teaching and studying will be attuned on the presented problem situations throughout the course. We shall call this approach in which a real case-position is leading for educational practice: “ Action Learning”.
This masters-program “ Entrepreneurs for Tomorrow” shall have a few unique features:
 sustainability
 and innovation
