Introduction:

The basic issue is the need to create awareness among the community on the role of the mobile

application in improving their quality of life. Lack of knowledge might be the cause that they abandon

the benefit of getting involved in any programme that stresses on technology and innovation.

Objectives:   

1. To promote the awareness in flood disaster management system among Kemaman Smart Community.

2. To develop mobile application in addressing flood alert among the community.

3. To promote local content in mobile application for non-flood related problem.

4. To suggest entrepreneurial opportunities once the mobile apps application has been developed.

Knowledge transferred:

Given the objectives of the project, it is proposed that the program will be based on the continuous engagement with the community throughout the project duration. In addition, several small-group meeting will be conducted through workshop, focus group discussion, participatory appraisal, competition-based events, demonstration, mini exhibition, road show and voluntary based interim program for the project manager.

Impact of project:

The project is expected to create awareness among the community on the need for flood management system that has been a flagship project under the Kemaman Smart Community program. In relation to this, this program will transfer basic mobile application knowledge especially to the youth and schoolchildren and this is expected to enhance creativity especially in ICT/mobile device application. Various programs will be organised to promote creativity among them to develop local content application that will be used to address the problem-related to flood or any aspect of their daily life.
