RCE Award

The Global RCE Service Centre of the United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) has created a new RCE Achievement Award to celebrate ‘good practices’ in education for sustainable development (ESD) conducted by one of the 101 Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs) worldwide.

The Award recognizes ESD projects, initiatives and activities that have translated existing local knowledge into concrete sustainability change practices, and empowered individuals and communities to make sustainable choices for the future. The nominated projects provided evidence of involvement of diverse actors in addressing local sustainable development challenges through dialogue, education, research and multi-stakeholder learning.

Thirty-one RCE projects were nominated for the award. The full nominations of RCEs that received their awards can be downloaded by clicking on the links below.

The Awards were conferred during the 7th Global RCE Conference in Tongyeong, Republic of Korea.
