Faculty of Biology, UGM in collaboration with RCE Yogyakarta is implementing sustainable development based on the curriculum to solve problems in biodiversity degradation. The tropical rain forest degradation is threatening at an alarming rate due to the extinction of biological resources from gene to ecosystem. In line of those issues, such programs as strategic scientific linkages, multidisciplinary approach, partnerships, and collaborations of mutual benefits with internationally recognized higher education institutions have to be implemented effectively. Those institutions will develop strategic programs in conserving and managing biodiversity by the implementation of education for sustainable development (EfSD) through research, education, and community services.
