Call for RCE applications

The United Nations University has announced its call for applications for new Regional Centres of Expertise (RCE) on Education for Sustainable Development.

The Ubuntu Alliance, in its meeting in April 2006 in Yokohama, established the Committee of Peers for the RCEs.  This Committee reviews applications for new RCEs and provides recommendations to UNU during the RCE acknowledgement process. The United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) acts as Secretariat of the Ubuntu Alliance. As of January 2014, 127 RCEs have been acknowledged globally.

Those organisations who are interested in initiating the RCE process and applying to become an RCE are requested to send expressions of interest to the Global RCE Service Centre by Monday, 7 April 2014.

RCE candidates are then requested to submit an application and an application summary by Friday, 30 May 2014. The Global RCE Service Centre will communicate with the applicants for the following months, so that applications can be developed in time for the Ubuntu Committee Meeting in the last quarter of this year.

UNU does not require that a specific format be followed for the main application document, as long as all the required information is provided.

The application summary should be in the required format. (Click to get the format of an application summary).
Please refer to the Guidelines for RCE applications for full details.(Click to get the guidelines)
