Enroll in Climate Change Science and Negotiations Online Course

Dear Colleagues,

You may wish to enroll in "Climate Change Science and Negotiations" the program is a two-semester course, with the first semester launching in fall 2014. During the first semester, you will learn about these solutions, and how they can be applied in different national contexts, based on the results from the Deep Decarbonization Pathways Project (DDPP), a global initiative to show how countries can transition to a low carbon economy by 2050, and how the world can stay within the 2°C limit.

 

3rd Americas Regional Conference

The RCEs of the Americas network of Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs) held their 3rd RCE Conference in Autlan de Nevarro, Jalisco, Mexico on 29–30 July 2014. Following the conference RCEs of the Americas stated their commitment to implementing strategic actions that build a continental learning space beyond the Decade on ESD and into the new era of the Global Action Programme on ESD.

Waste as a Resource: an Excerpt from European Environment Agency

In line with the earlier promise I made in my last post on e-waste to share knowledge of Waste-Wealth initiatives. Here is an important note for EEA.

What if we could use waste as a resource and thereby scale down the demand for extraction of new resources? Extracting fewer materials and using existing resources would help avert some of the impacts created along the chain. In this context, unused waste also represents a potential loss.
