1st Korean National RCE Meeting

RCE Tongyeong will host the 1st Korean National RCE Meeting, titled 'Enabling ESD in Local Education Systems via National Partnership', with the support of the Korean National Commission for UNESCO and six other Korean RCEs including RCE Incheon, RCE Ulju, RCE Inje, RCE Changwon, RCE Dobong and RCE Gwangmyeong.

Webinar: Launch of the IAU Global Survey Report on Higher Education and Research for Sustainable Development

The International Association of Universities (IAU) conducted its third survey on Higher Education and Research for Sustainable Development (HESD) in early 2022. In total, 464 responses from higher education institutions in 120 countries were collected. The findings show, that higher education and partnerships are essential to address the global challenges identified in the UN Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to build a more sustainable future together.

Seventeenth Meeting of the Ubuntu Committee of Peers for the RCEs Reviews Progress and Strategy

The Seventeenth Meeting of the Ubuntu Committee of Peers for the RCEs was held in Tokyo, Japan from 14-15 December, 2022, hosted by the Global RCE Service Centre at UNU-IAS.

Members of the Ubuntu Committee, Regional Advisors to RCE communities, the Global RCE Service Centre, and a representative from the Secretariat Office of Environmental Education, Ministry of Environment, Japan were in attendance for the two-day meeting.

5th National Youth Conference on ESD – Sustainability Ambassadors Program

RCE Kano has been implementing ESD projects and is geared towards the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development as well as 'transforming the world', targeting the eradication of poverty - 'the greatest global challenge' - in all its forms and dimensions. The Agenda emphatically expresses the commitment by states to take bold and transformative steps to shift the world to a sustainable and resilient path, while ensuring that no one is left behind. Youth inclusivity has therefore factored as an important feature of the SDGs.

RCE Youth Biodiversity Art Challenge Awardees Announced

The Global RCE Service Centre at the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) is pleased to announce the awardees for the RCE Youth Biodiversity Art Challenge!

Held earlier this year in partnership with UNESCO, the challenge was open to anyone aged 35 or younger worldwide.
