Global, National and Community Actions for ESD for 2030 Discussed at UNU-IAS & MOEJ Event

On 1 July, 2021, UNU-IAS and the Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MOEJ) co-organised a Global Environment Outreach Centre (GEOC) outreach event on the theme 'Synergising ESD for 2030 Stakeholders Dialogue - Learn for our Planet, Act for Sustainability' as part of a series of UNU-IAS events organised around the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) 2021.

Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI) Special Event: Driving collective action for the SDGs: The role of further education

UNU-IAS will co-organise one of nine Special Events at the 2021 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), exploring the role of further education to drive collective action for the SDGs and build a sustainable and resilient recovery.

Calling All Universities and Colleges: Join the Race to Zero

The Race to Zero is a global campaign to mobilise leadership and support from businesses, cities, regions, investors and universities for a healthy, resilient and fair, zero carbon recovery that prevents future threats, creates decent jobs, and unlocks inclusive, sustainable growth.  

UNEP, Second Nature and EAUC are working together to represent the higher education sector in this race and already have more than 700 signatories on board with the aim of reaching 1,000 by COP26 in November 2021.

RCEs Explore How to Upscale Climate Action in Second RCE Global Webinar

The 2nd RCE Global Webinar, 'Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals: action through learning in a time of global crises', took place on 8 June, 2021. Hosted by RCE Scotland and the Global RCE Service Centre, this webinar was the second of two 'bridge' events between the 2020 RCE Regional Meetings and the 12th Global RCE Conference to be held in Autumn 2021. Chaired by Dr. Rehema White, RCE Scotland, the event saw over 90 participants coming together to focus on taking action on the most pressing of issues: climate change.

Roadmap for the RCE Community 2021–2030 Launched

The 'Roadmap for the RCE Community 2021–2030' was launched at the 2nd RCE Global Webinar, held on 8 June, 2021. The Roadmap serves to guide the RCE community, like-minded partner organisations and networks on planning and implementation to expand, accelerate and scale up the impacts of RCEs' actions related to the SDGs and the ESD for 2030 framework at local, national and global levels during the period 2021-2030.
