RCE Greater Dhaka and its host, the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) celebrated World Environment Day 2018 on 5 June, 2018.

The day began with a rally led by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdur Rab, attended by RCE member partners, staff and students. Following this, a ‘Birds Nest Program’, organised by the Faculty of Environmental Science and Sustainability, was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor. The objective of this program is not only to increase biodiversity but also to provide shelters for birds to survive natural disasters.

Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ataur Rahman, coordinator for RCE Greater Dhaka addressed the audience, speaking about the environmental threats for birds, highlighting issues such as food scarcity caused by chemical fertilisers and pesticides based agriculture.
