The European Regional Meeting 2024 will be organised in a hybrid format from 27- 29 August 2024 in Dinslaken, Germany. The meeting will be hosted by RCE Ruhr under the overarching theme of Transformative Education, with a focus on ‘Nurturing the competencies for a sustainable world’.

Since 2012, RCE Ruhr has established strong partnerships with various stakeholders to advance Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) aligned with the goals of the 2030 Agenda.

The meeting aims to facilitate collaboration and coordination of activities and initiatives among the European RCE networks to achieve Transformative Education. Additionally, it will discuss the need for active engagement with target groups, such as communities, educators, policymakers, and other stakeholders, to ensure meaningful impact and address the specific needs and challenges of the regions. Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) must be rooted in transformative learning and teaching practices.

The meeting will take place in a rural area at one of RCE Ruhr's visitor centers. Surrounded by beautiful industrial ruins undergoing transformation, the meeting space will not only serve as a venue for the event but also provide a dynamic and exciting environment for all participants to envision a colorful future.

We are grateful for the kind support from RCE Scotland, RCE Oldenburger - Münsterland, and RCE Basque Country-Navarre in organising this event.
